People Living with Disability Under Nkwanta North District enjoys common fund disbursment.

 


People Living Disability within the jurisdiction of Nkwanta North District are Overwhelmed Today for the disbursement of their Disability common funds by the district assembly.


Nowadays, Ghana government does not want to give physical money to Persons With Disability (PWDs) because they misuse it or doesn’t use it for intended purpose. 


In this case, the MMDAS can give physical money to PWDs on peculiar issues like settlement of medical bills or medications and Private Special School Fees of which the bill amount must be attached to the application letter, which Nkwanta North is not an exception.


Due to this, Nkwanta North District has today did their 9th disbursements since the Ghana government  instructed the MMDAS to start giving physical monies to PWDs.


Today which happened to be Tuesday Auguest, 30. 

Nkwanta North District has given seven deep freezers, four showings machines, one bicycle, two package of zincs one kellsburg motor and monies to persons with disabilities.


Mr. Bright social welfare Director said, the beneficiary should always make sure they make good use of the items given to them.


Director again said public should stop calling PWDs pozo, he said everyone has a name and should be called by that names.


The Presiding member, Mr. Gregory Baba gave pieces of advise to PWDs.

According to him when giving the items, it also money.

You can make money from the item given to you.

The district chief Executive, honourable Williams K  Nawugma said today happened to be a day for PWDs, those who areto benefit from the common fund.


Honourable again said since the government has instruct them to now give physical monies to PWDs, that is what they are doing. They always tell pwds to always write what they want and same is given to them.


He again said, those pwds that are not part of the association should try and also register. 


Honourable said, this is not about NPP or NDC, is for those that are part of the association.


He ended by saying that public should stop calling PWDs pozo.


Mr. Nankan Kwame John who is the president for PWDs for Nkwanta North District has also extend his greetings to the president of Ghana  for the love given to PWDs under Nkwanta North.


He again said they always receive the common fund from the government.

He ended by saying monies has be given to those that got their tricycle spoiled to repair it and start attending meetings again.


One of the members express gratitude to social wealfare director and  district chief Executive and the president as well.


Kajabik Paul who is the chair person for the physically challenge people Nkwanta North District said he is so glad to see what the assembly has done for them.


Nabila Paul also a member said he thanks the government for this wonderful day, through government that they also get something to feed on.

He is also pleading on those that are not part of the association should also get themselves registered.

Former parliamentarian with a disability from Anambra, Nigeria, was beheaded by a kidnapper who had already received a huge ransom from his family.
